The summer of 2016

Hosanna! It is risen!

The smoke. From the barbecue. I kid you not. A barbecue. In Dublin. 15 May. O the summer of 2016. What a jewel that was that one.

It lasted three long days. I kid you not.

Three whole days without a shaggin cloud in sight. Seventy two hours. No rain. Not even drizzle. I kid you not. We usually consider a day with just a bit of drizzle as a day without rain. But we actually managed to score three continuous days without rain or drizzle.

With no interruption! We usually consider three days with just the odd shower in the middle of the second night as three days without rain. But we actually managed to score three continuous days without rain or drizzle even at night.

And you want to hear the best part?

Usually… usually… when we get some sort of the resemblance of something looking vaguely like the possibility of good weather, it happens on a Tuesday. Or a Thursday. But definitely always a day when I am shackled to a computer screen.

But this time we actually managed to score three continuous days without rain or drizzle even at night, that coincided with a weekend!

.

.

Ok, ok, it wasn’t actually that warm. But come on, one cannot get too greedy.
